Gemological Institute of America

Founded in Los Angeles in 1931, the Gemological Institute of America positions itself as an independent non-profit organization, as well as an authoritative source of knowledge, research and training in diamonds, colored stones and gems.

The Californian organization is known to had developed the today’s International Classification System based on the evaluation of the so-called “4Cs”, i.e. the elements that determine the value of diamonds. Likewise, the GIA scales of color and clarity parameterization of the diamond are considered the reference standard to which all other diamond grading laboratories adhere.

The certification issued by the American Gemological Institute, which includes all the specifications of the diamond it is associated with, seems to be among the most prestigious in the world.

International Gemological Institute

The International Gemological Institute, whose headquarters is located in Antwerp, is the oldest independent European institution for the evaluation of stones; its foundation dates back to 1975.

The Diamond Report issued by the IGI, provides a detailed assessment of the carat weight, color, clarity and cut of the diamond for which it is prepared, as well as secondary evaluation parameters such as polishing, symmetry and fluorescence.

Hoge Raad voor Diamant

The Diamond High Council is the only gemological research institute recognized as the official representative body for the Belgium diamond industry.

There are three certifications issued by this independent institute: a document that guarantees the authenticity of the diamond, certifying that it is not a synthetic or non-authentic stone, a detailed report of the peculiar characteristics of the diamond it is associate with and the identification report HRD.

Lumina Diamonds Report

All our jewels, before being sold, undergo a strict analysis protocol by our Quality Service; a double check is always applied to each diamond by our team of gemologists. The double check therefore allows to issue, for diamonds below 0.30 carats, an impartial certificate of Lumina Diamonds analysis that attest the natural origin of the stone and lists the main features.
